About me

Hello, I’m Mandy Maria (Reid-Foster), a multi-disciplined illustrator and designer from Aberdeen, living and working in the sunny/rainy city of Glasgow with my husband and business partner, our son ‘cheeky chops’, and Caper the wildcat.

When not drawing, I’m one half of the design studio Submarine with my husband, where we specialise in branding, web design and print design.

I’ve been creative from an early age, using paint brushes, pens & pencils, and anything else that came to hand. I’ve always worked with bold colours and for a long time my main inspiration has been the human form, which is maybe down to my Italian heritage! This continues to be true, but my practice and inspiration has developed to include an appreciation of nature and a love of drawing textures & the smallest details.

Always inspired by the world around me, and motivated by a spontaneity and desire to move forward, my work and style continues to develop.

My technique is inspired by traditional printmaking techniques, and wether it’s digital with a stylus, or paper with a pen & pencil, everything I do is hand-drawn.

Sometimes bold, sometimes understated, often humorous, but always engaging, my aim is to create affordable contemporary prints which fit in any home. My nursery collection is designed to brighten any child’s room with vibrancy & fun, and sometimes a sprinkling of adult humour to make tired parents smile!

In addition to my print collections I also create commissions which focus on weddings and pregnancy, as well as portraits.
